Changes to the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Have your say
10/05/2022
The Government has launched a public consultation on the new Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) and Mental Capacity Act code of practice. LPS will provide protection for people aged 16 and above who need to be deprived of their liberty to enable care or treatment, but they lack the mental capacity to consent to these arrangements. LPS will replace the current DoL Ssystem.
Merseycare are inviting service users and carers to join them for one of their informal sessions to learn more about the proposed changes, ask some questions, and contribute to the trust wide response to the consultation.
Registration is mandatory and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
