Hospitals Need To Do More To Show People How They Learn From Complaints
16/01/2020
Healthwatch England's latest report goes live today, taking a closer look at hospital complaints. Sir Robert Francis will be sending a letter out to all hospitals and NHS leaders to make them aware of the report and the action that needs to be taken.
Key findings include:
- Only 38% of trusts make public any information on the changes they’ve made in response to complaints.
- Local reporting on complaints is inconsistent and inaccessible.
- Our analysis shows that only 1 in 8 hospital trusts (12%) are demonstrating that they are compliant with the statutory regulations when it comes to reporting on complaints.
